Can the President Declare War without Congress ??

Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the United States Constitution, sometimes referred to as the War Powers Clause, vests in the Congress the power to declare war, in the following wording:

[The Congress shall have Power...] To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water.

So that would be a big NO and ANY President who attempts to do so should be impeached immediately (cough..Bush and Obama and Clinton..cough). A "resolution" from Congress is not sufficient either, only a formal declaration of war. If everyone insisted on this we wouldn't have been in Iraq and Afghanistan, Attacked Libya, attacking people with drones in other countries constantly, the Balkans under Clinton, Vietnam, and Korea for year after bloody year with no conditions for victory.

I laugh when I read "The trend has mystified analysts." The truth is that it shouldn't. Over the last 20 years we as a country replaced every good paying manufacturing job with a low paying service job. Our economy runs on consumer spending and as these good paying jobs have left, the economy has weakened. Now even highly skilled jobs are being offshored which keeps salaries low. You add in inflation of at least 5% per year (it's truly higher) and then $20,000/year in 1994 is now really $10,000/year in 2014. That is why people "make the same money" but everything seems so expensive. The fact is that your dollars are worth less every year due to inflation. If inflation is 5% a year and you get a 3% raise, you really lost 2% and it is compounded every year. Simple and until we stop these "free trade" agreements that are decimating our economy, nothing will change.

IRS Head Bold Face LIED to Congress and US

So when the head of the IRS said that Lois Lerner's emails were lost due to a hard drive crash, it was a bold faced lie and he KNEW that it was a bold faced lie.

Why aren't their immediate impeachment proceedings against him ?? Why aren't there criminal perjury charges against him ??

Answer:  The republicans will grumble but not do anything about it because there are a bunch of those SOBs who should be in jail too so the politicians don't want to play the go to jail game.

Thoughts on the Brown Case

Not saying he did because that video is fishy but just say that the victim did steal some cigars, he was unarmed and not a martial arts expert so the police officer had no justification to use deadly force even if there was a struggle. The REAL issue is that they have lowered the standards to become a cop and now 90 pound soaking wet guys (like the officer in question) are cops and they have a badge, a taser and a gun. If the taser doesn't work or the person gets close, he physically CAN'T take down the suspect and has to use his gun. This has happened all over the country as police academy standards have dropped, the use of deadly force has risen. I have no doubt that if the cop had been 6 foot 3 and 250 pounds, he easily could have cuffed the suspect and there would have been no issue instead of a dead kid and a grieving family.
