My Thoughts on H1B Visas

After 25 years spent in IT at various companies, I can't STAND the H1B visa program. It is criminal what these companies are doing when American graduates with tech degrees can't get jobs in their fields. The saying that "they can't find American workers" is a filthy LIE. They want cheap foreign workers who in my experience aren't 1/2 as qualified as the American worker yet they will work cheaply and won't complain because they'll get deported thus the company has a cheap virtual slave. Never once have I EVER seen an H1B hired because they couldn't find an American worker with the skill set needed--- it's always that they are cheap AND they keep tech wages much lower than they should be. One former employer (a Fortune 500 company) 10 years ago had almost all American workers. They now have all of their lower level work done in India (which is very low quality and always messed up) and here in the U.S., their IT workforce is 75% H1Bs and 25% Americans (who are worked to death fixing everyone else's mistakes). Most of the American workers were let go and this company makes Billions in profits a year yet pays almost no taxes. One other thing is that 90% of the H1Bs (most from India) have absolutely NO desire to ever stay in the U.S. All of them come here, save money, get experience, and after 5 years go home with $100,000 and live great and then get jobs with U.S. companies that have opened offices in India to support U.S. operations. Understand that I have no issue with the workers from India doing this because if I were in their shoes, I'd be doing the same thing. It's just a sick system where the American worker is being harmed and I'm tired of company's and the government's lies on this issue.

I know that I (and many of us) are very critical about our government and the way things are going in our country right now, The reason is that we love it so much and it is painful to see it slowly being destroyed. To see all of the great things that made this country great weakened and destroyed day after day. Things like the family, patriotism, honor, and even the founding fathers themselves are constantly villified by a bunch of left wing communists who hate this country and all it stood for.

Reagan is right--this country could be great again and even better if the PEOPLE straightened up and started acting morally and stopped tolerating immoral behavior from business, the government and each other.

I have so much respect for the signers to the Declaration of Independance. The reason being was that by signing they were guilty of TREASON against the British crown and the penalty was DEATH !!! They all knew this but their consciences demanded that they sign it. Many of them paid dearly for signing it as well:

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army, another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.

Thoughts on GMOs

Like all new technologies, genetic engineering can do wonders and it can also create horrors. Just like harnessing the atom led to wonderful advances in medicine and power generation, it also led to nuclear weapons. Genetically engineering animals and food crops can be very dangerous. For example, potatoes and corn have been engineered with insect tolerance by expressing cry genes from the bacteria bacillus thuringiensis. Now they SAY that's safe but does anyone know the long term effects on the human body of ingesting that for decades ?? In 2011, Chinese scientists generated dairy cows genetically engineered with genes for human beings to produce milk that would be the same as human breast milk.This could potentially benefit mothers who cannot produce breast milk but want their children to have breast milk rather than formula.  Great but now those cows have HUMAN genes and wouldn't that make bovine diseases easier to cross over to humans ??
This is a complex issue because as the article states, crop yields can be increased as well as make them impervious to disease and insects. Yet, the long term effects on nature as well as humans are NOT known and this area of science needs to be very closely regulated.

I think that most people are concerned about Justin Blackmon and feel sorry for him because they have friends and family who have struggled with addiction problems and have seen what it does and the damage it wreaks.
Yes, at the end of the day it is his choice to drink or take a drug and he is responsible and will suffer the consequences. However if you have ever seen a loved one or dear friend literally destroy themselves with drugs or alcohol it will break your heart. Where it is easy for any of us without an addiction to never drink or take a drug again, for addicts it is a daily struggle and it will be for the rest of their lives. If they don't get it under control, their lives will quickly spiral out of control and that journey ends in the morgue or a jail cell. I pray that Justin Blackmon gets himself in a program and decides to deal with his demons before it is too late.

Iraq ... A Mess that the US Government CAUSED

I love the language in the AP report, "Islamic militants" are attacking. Who is this group and where are they getting all of the weapons to fight ??? What happened is Sunnis angry at the Shiite government in Iraq that we put in, supported, and armed went over the border to Syria and fought against the Assad government and the U.S. gave them weapons and training which they then used against the Iraqi government. These weapons originally came from Libya where the U.S. supported and armed the "rebels" to overthrow the Gaddafi government and Libya is now in chaos as well. Between the Bush and Obama administration's INSANE Middle East policies, THEY have caused this mess. What a disaster and as a country we spent TRILLIONS of dollars and THOUSANDS of lives in Iraq for what ??  "Weapons of mass destruction" that never existed ??

Cantor getting kicked out made me very happy. Why did he lose the primary ?? Because he was too "busy and important" to meet with his constituents because he's a "wheeler dealer" in DC and votes the way the special interests who support him want. He's a major part of the problem and I'm glad he's out. Now if everyone would kick every incumbent out and only those who were in touch with the needs and wants of their  constituents were elected, then our government would be a million times better.
